Since 2014 , the news of the AEC has been much heard in the mass media . AEC is an agreement made by 10 countries at the time of ASEA Summit in Singapore in 1992 . They agreed to establish a free trade zone in ASEAN within 15 years . AEC implementation agreement will have an impact on many sectors , to technological innovation , to trade and to human resources.
2016 , Indonesia and other Southeast Asian country has entered a period of AEC ( Asean Economic Community ) . AEC era means all economic activities such as export and import of goods , investment , and current free services in ASEAN countries.
Indonesia should begin to prepare themselves if it does not want to be the target of introducing the product ASEAN member countries. Indonesia should be able to become a better economy in 2016 AEC participation, Several strategic steps that need to be done by the government are from the business sector increased protection of the consumer , providing capital , improve product quality in the country .
There is negative and positive impact of ASEAN Economic Community, such as :
1. Negative impact :
The negativee impact of which is the increasing amount of imported goods in the country, mastery of local resources by foreign actor as well as the increasing number of foreign workers in the country.
2. Positive impact :
Positive impact on economic growth in each country involved, which ends will improve the welfare of the people of each ASEAN country.
Indonesia is one of the ASEAN countries with the largest market potensial compared to other ASEAN countries, the huge market potensial will be an attraction for other ASEAN countries economic actor to make indonesia as a target market for goods, services, capital, investment and labor.
There is negative and positive impact for indonesia :
1. Negative impact for indonesia, especially the employers workers. Investor and foreign workers, could be going to meet indonesia, even to the distric / city in 2015 while indonesia citizens even be spectator in his own country because of all the effort and work the land taken over by foreigners. That’s concerns raised.
2. Positive impact for indonesia, increase exports and imports with tariff-free system and the freeway. Increasing exports will increase the competitiveness of Indonesia in the ASEAN market . Also , domestic demand will more easily be obtained with ease importation of goods from abroad .
Moreover, the AEC also can encourage the growth of foreign investment to strengthen the resilience of capital in the country.
